MEETINGS

Monthly Meetings are held at 7:30 on the 3rd Thursday of each month (except for May, when there's a walk-in-a-garden and June, a Sunday picnic; no events in July, August & December). We meet at:

VanDusen Gardens - Floral Hall

5251 Oak Street (37th and Oak)

Vancouver, BC

Our monthly meetings usually open with a short educational session which may include rhododendron species or hybrids, or topics such as how to take cuttings or to start seed, or on how to grow them successfully. The main program usually consists of an outside speaker with a presentation of special rhododendron gardens, collection trips to China or the Himalayas, botanical tours, or of companion plants or other botanical subjects.

Douglas Justice, Director and Curator of Collections at the UBC Botanical Garden, often gives a short presentation on what's blooming along with sample cuttings from these plants.

Local growers also bring a selection of premium plants for sale that are offered at very resonable prices.

There is a raffle of plants contributed by members.

Meetings are open to everyone. Guests and non-members are always welcome.

Pre-meeting mingle and plant sales precede the meetings at 7:00 PM.
